Tammuz 5
Ezekiel 1:1 ¶Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the
fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by
the river of Chebar, that
the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of
king Jehoiachin's captivity,
3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest,
the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the
hand of the LORD was there upon him.
4 ¶And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north,
a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it,
and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the
fire………
Ezekiel 2:3 And
he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a
rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have
transgressed against me, even unto this very day………..

Sivan 23
Esther 8:9 Then were
the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month
Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according
to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the
deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an
hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the
writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews
according to their writing, and according to their language. 10
And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus' name, and sealed it with the king's
ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels,
and young dromedaries: 11 Wherein the king
granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and
to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the
power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones
and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey, 12 Upon one day in all
the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the
twelfth month, which is the month Adar. 13 The copy of the
writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto
all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge
themselves on their enemies. 14 So the posts that
rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the
king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace. 15 ¶And Mordecai went
out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and
with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and
the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. 16 The Jews had light,
and gladness, and joy, and honour. 17 And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever
the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a
feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the
fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Jeremiah 1:1 ¶The words
of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the
land of Benjamin: 2 To whom the word of
the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the
thirteenth year of his reign. 3 It came also in the
days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the
eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying
away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month. 4 ¶Then the word of the
LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee
in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I
sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord
GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 7 But the LORD said
unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send
thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. 8 Be not afraid of
their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 9 Then the LORD put
forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I
have put my words in thy mouth. 10 See, I have this day
set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull
down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. 11 ¶Moreover the word
of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I
see a rod of an almond tree. 12 Then said the LORD
unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. 13 And the word of the
LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see
a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north. 14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall
break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land. 15 For, lo, I will call
all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall
come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of
Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the
cities of Judah. 16 And I will utter my
judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me,
and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their
own hands. 17 Thou therefore gird
up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not
dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them. 18 For, behold, I have
made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls
against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes
thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land. 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they
shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to
deliver thee. |

2 Kings
25:8 And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is
the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a
servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem: 9 And he burnt the house
of the LORD, and the king's house, and all
the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire. Av 10
Jeremiah
52:12 ¶Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was
the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard,
which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem, 13 And burned the house
of the LORD, and the king's house; and all
the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with
fire: 14 and
all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake
down all the walls of Jerusalem round about. Av 10
Ezekiel 201 ¶And it came to
pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month,
that certain of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the LORD, and sat
before me. 2 Then came the word of the
LORD unto me, saying, 3 Son of man, speak unto the
elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to
enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by
you. 4 Wilt thou judge them, son
of man, wilt thou judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their
fathers: 5 ¶And
say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and
lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself
known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them,
saying, I am the LORD your God; 6 In the day that I lifted up
mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land
that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory
of all lands: 7 Then said I unto them, Cast
ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves
with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. 8 But they rebelled against
me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the
abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then
I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against
them in the midst of the land of Egypt. 9 But I wrought for my name's
sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they
were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth
out of the land of Egypt. 10 ¶Wherefore I caused them
to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. 11 And I gave them my
statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live
in them. 12 Moreover also I gave them
my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am
the LORD that sanctify them. 13 But the house of Israel
rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and
they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them;
and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury
upon them in the wilderness, to consume them. 14 But I wrought for my
name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose
sight I brought them out. 15 Yet also I lifted up my
hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land
which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of
all lands; 16 Because they despised my
judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their
heart went after their idols. 17 Nevertheless mine eye
spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the
wilderness. 18 But I said unto their
children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers,
neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: 19 I am the LORD your God;
walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; 20 And hallow my sabbaths;
and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the
LORD your God. 21 Notwithstanding the
children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my
judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they
polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to
accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. 22 Nevertheless I withdrew
mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in
the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth. 23 I lifted up mine hand unto
them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and
disperse them through the countries; 24 Because they had not
executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my
sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols. 25 Wherefore I gave them also
statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live; 26 And I polluted them in
their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that
openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might
know that I am the LORD. 27 ¶Therefore, son of man,
speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a
trespass against me. 28 For when I had brought
them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them,
then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered
there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their
offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their
drink offerings. 29 Then I said unto them,
What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah
unto this day. 30 Wherefore say unto the
house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of
your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations? 31 For when ye offer your
gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves
with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O
house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by
you. 32 And that which cometh into
your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the
families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. 33 ¶As I live, saith the Lord
GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury
poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out
from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are
scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury
poured out. 35 And I will bring you into
the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. 36 Like as I pleaded with
your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with
you, saith the Lord GOD. 37 And I will cause you to
pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: 38 And I will purge out from
among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them
forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into
the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 39 As for you, O house of
Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and
hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name
no more with your gifts, and with your idols. 40 For in mine holy mountain,
in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all
the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept
them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your
oblations, with all your holy things. 41 I will accept you with
your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out
of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in
you before the heathen. 42 And ye shall know that I
am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country
for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. 43 And there shall ye
remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye
shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have
committed. 44 And ye shall know that I
am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according
to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of
Israel, saith the Lord GOD. 45 ¶Moreover the word of the
LORD came unto me, saying, 46 Son of man, set thy face
toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against
the forest of the south field; 47 And say to the forest of
the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus
saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour
every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be
quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein. 48 And all flesh shall see that
I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched. 49 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD!
they say of me, Doth he not speak parables? |

Haggai 1:1 ¶In the
second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the
month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the
son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the
high priest, saying, 2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people
say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built. 3 Then came the word of
the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 Is it time for you, O
ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? 5 Now therefore thus
saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 6 Ye have sown much,
and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not
filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth
wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the LORD
of hosts; Consider your ways. 8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the
house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the
LORD. 9 Ye looked for much,
and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it.
Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run
every man unto his own house. 10 Therefore the heaven
over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. 11 And I called for a
drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon
the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth
forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands. 12 ¶Then Zerubbabel the
son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all
the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the
words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the
people did fear before the LORD. 13 Then spake Haggai
the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying, I am with
you, saith the LORD. 14 And the LORD
stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah,
and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit
of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of
the LORD of hosts, their God, 15 In the four and
twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king. |

Ezekiel 8:1 ¶And it
came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the
month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that
the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me. 2 Then I beheld, and lo
a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even
downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of
brightness, as the colour of amber. 3 And he put forth the
form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me
up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to
Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where
was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy. 4 And, behold, the
glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in
the plain. 5 Then said he unto me,
Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up
mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the
altar this image of jealousy in the entry. 6 He said furthermore
unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations
that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my
sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations. 7 ¶And he brought me to
the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. 8 Then said he unto me,
Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a
door. 9 And he said unto me,
Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here. 10 So I went in and
saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all
the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about. 11 And there stood
before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the
midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer
in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up. 12 Then said he unto
me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in
the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD
seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth. 13 ¶He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt
see greater abominations that they do. 14 Then he brought me
to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and,
behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz. 15 Then said he unto
me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt
see greater abominations than these. 16 And he brought me
into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the
temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty
men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward
the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. 17 Then he said unto
me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of
Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have
filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and,
lo, they put the branch to their nose. 18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not
spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud
voice, yet will I not hear them. Luke 1:26 ¶And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from
God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was
Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And the angel came
in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with
thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw
him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of
salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou
hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou
shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name
JESUS. 32 He shall be great,
and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto
him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign
over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto
the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel
answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the
power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing
which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy
cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is
the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing
shall be impossible. 38 And Mary said,
Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the
angel departed from her. |

Jeremiah 41:1 ¶Now it came to pass in the seventh month,
that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and
the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.
2 Then
arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and
smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew
him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
3 Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him,
even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and
the men of war.
4 And it came to pass the second day after he had slain
Gedaliah, and no man knew it,
5 That there came certain from Shechem, from Shiloh, and
from Samaria, even fourscore men, having their beards shaven, and their
clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their
hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.
6 And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah
to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it came to pass, as he met
them, he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.
7 And it was so, when they came into the midst of the
city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them, and cast them into the
midst of the pit, he, and the men that were with him.
8 But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay
us not: for we have treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of
oil, and of honey. So he forbare, and slew them not among their brethren.
9 Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies
of the men, whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, was it which Asa the king
had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah
filled it with them that were slain.
10 Then
Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people that were in
Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan
the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam: and
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go
over to the Ammonites.

words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the
people did fear before the LORD. 13 Then spake Haggai
the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying, I am with
you, saith the LORD. 14 And the LORD
stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah,
and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit
of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the
LORD of hosts, their God, 15 In the four and twentieth
day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king. Elul 25
Nehemiah 6:15 ¶So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of
the month Elul, in fifty and two days. 16 And it came to pass, that
when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us
saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they
perceived that this work was wrought of our God. 2 Kings 25:25 But it
came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael
the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten
men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees
that were with him at Mizpah. 26 And all the people, both
small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt:
for they were afraid of the Chaldees. 2 Chronicles 31:7 In the third month they began to lay the foundation of
the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month. 8And when Hezekiah and the
princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and his people Israel. Tishri 1 & 2
Nehemiah 8:2, 8, 13 And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation
both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. 8 So they
read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused
them to understand the reading. 13 ¶And on
the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the
people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to
understand the words of the law. |

Haggai 2:1 ¶In the
seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of
the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying, 2 Speak now to
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of
Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying, 3 Who is left among you that saw this house in her first
glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it
as nothing? 4 Yet now be strong, O
Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the
high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and
work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts: 5 According to the word
that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth
among you: fear ye not. 6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a
little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and
the dry land; 7 And I will shake
all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this
house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. 8 The silver is mine,
and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. 9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of
the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in
this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. Zechariah 1:1 ¶In the
eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto
Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, 2 The LORD hath been
sore displeased with your fathers. 3 Therefore say thou
unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn
ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD
of hosts. 4 Be ye not as your
fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the
LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings:
but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD. 5 Your fathers, where
are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever? 6 But my words and my
statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold
of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts
thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so
hath he dealt with us. |

And the ark rested in the
seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of
Ararat. Genesis 8:4 1 Kings 8:2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king
Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim,
which is the seventh month. 1 Kings
6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the
children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of
Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of
the LORD. 37 In the fourth year was
the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif: 38 And in the eleventh
year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished
throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So
was he seven years in building it. Tishri 23
2 Chronicles 7:8 Also
at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him,
a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of
Egypt. 9 And in the eighth day
they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven
days, and the feast seven days. 10 And on the three and
twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents,
glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David,
and to Solomon, and to Israel his people. 11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the
LORD, and the king's
house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the
LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected. Tishri 24

9:1 ¶Now in the

with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them. 2 And
the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and
confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. 3
And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of
the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they
confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God. |

Zechariah 7:1 ¶And it
came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD
came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu; 2 When they had sent
unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before
the LORD, 3 And to speak unto the priests which were in the house
of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth
month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years? 4 Then came the word of
the LORD of hosts unto me, saying, 5 Speak unto all the
people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in
the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast
unto me, even to me? 6 And when ye did eat,
and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for
yourselves? 7 Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried
by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and
the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the
plain? |

12:32 And Jeroboam
ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like
unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto
the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high
places which he had made. 33 So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the
fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of
his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he
offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.
Jeremiah
36:9 ¶And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of
Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before
the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from
the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem. 10 Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in
the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the
scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD'S
house, in the ears of all the people. 11 When Michaiah the
son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words
of the LORD, 12 Then he went down
into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and, lo, all the princes
sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and
Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the
son of Hananiah, and all the princes. 13 Then Michaiah
declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book
in the ears of the people. 14 Therefore all the
princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of
Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast
read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took
the roll in his hand, and came unto them. 15 And they said unto
him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears. 16 Now it came to pass,
when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and
said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words. 17 And they asked
Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his
mouth? 18 Then Baruch answered
them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them
with ink in the book. 19 Then said the
princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know
where ye be. |

Nehemiah 1:1 ¶The words
of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu,
in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace, 2 That Hanani, one of
my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning
the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning
Jerusalem. 3 And they said unto
me, The remnant that are left of the captivity
there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of
Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. 4 And it
came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned
certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, Jeremiah
39:1 ¶In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his
army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it. 2 And in the eleventh year of
Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was
broken up. Kislev 20
Ezra 10:6 ¶Then Ezra rose up from
before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of
Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for
he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away. 7 And they made proclamation
throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that
they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem; 8 And that whosoever would not
come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the
elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the
congregation of those that had been carried away. 9 Then all the men of Judah and
Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It
was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people
sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and
for the great rain. 10 And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye
have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of
Israel. 11 Now therefore make confession
unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of
the land, and from the strange wives. 12 Then all the congregation
answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do. 13 But the people are many, and it
is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this
a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this
thing. 14 Let now our rulers of all the congregation
stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at
appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges
thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us. 15 ¶Only Jonathan the son of
Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and
Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them. 16 And the children of the
captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers,
after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were
separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the
matter. 17 And they made an end with all
the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month. Kislev 24
Haggai 2:10 ¶In the
four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came
the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, 11 Thus saith the LORD
of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, 12 If one bear holy flesh
in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage,
or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and
said, No. 13 Then said Haggai, If
one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean?
And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. 14 Then answered
Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith
the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer
there is unclean. 15 And now, I pray you,
consider from this day and upward, from
before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: 16 Since those days
were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when
one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press,
there were but twenty. 17
I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the
labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD. 18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and
twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of
the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it. 19 Is the seed yet in
the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and
the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you. 20 ¶And again the word
of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month,
saying, 21 Speak to Zerubbabel,
governor of Judah, saying, I will shake
the heavens and the earth; 22 And I will
overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the
kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that
ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by
the sword of his brother. 23 In that day, saith
the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of
Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen
thee, saith the LORD of hosts. |

Ezekiel 33:21 ¶And it
came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the
fifth day of the month, that one that had
escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten. 22 Now the hand of the
LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had
opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened,
and I was no more dumb. 23 Then the word of the
LORD came unto me, saying, 24 Son of man, they
that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was
one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for
inheritance. 25 Wherefore say unto
them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with
the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall
ye possess the land? 26 Ye stand upon your
sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and
shall ye possess the land? 27 Say thou thus unto
them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes
shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the
beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall
die of the pestilence. 28 For I will lay the
land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the
mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through. 29 Then shall they
know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of
all their abominations which they have committed. Tevet 10
Ezekiel 24:1 ¶Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month,
in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this
same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.
3 And
utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:
4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece,
the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.
5 Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones
under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.
6 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city,
to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring
it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.
7 For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the
top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
8 That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I
have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.
9 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city!
I will even make the pile for fire great.
10 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and
spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
11 Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass
of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten
in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.
12 She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum
went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.
13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged
thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness
any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.
14 I the LORD have spoken it:
it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I
spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy
doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD 25 Also, thou son of man,
shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of
their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their
minds, their sons and their daughters, 26 That he that escapeth in
that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears? 27 In that day shall thy
mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more
dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the

Zechariah 1:7 ¶Upon the
four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in
the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son
of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, 8 I saw by night, and
behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees
that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and
white. 9 Then said I, O my
lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will
shew thee what these be. 10 And the man that
stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD
hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth. 11 And they answered
the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have
walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth
still, and is at rest. 12 Then the angel of
the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have
mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had
indignation these threescore and ten years? 13 And the LORD
answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words. 14 So the angel that
communed with me said unto me, Cry thou,
saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion
with a great jealousy. 15 And I am very sore
displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little
displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. 16 Therefore thus saith
the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with
mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line
shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. 17 Cry yet, saying,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be
spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose
Jerusalem. 18 ¶Then lifted I up
mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns. 19 And I said unto the
angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the
horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. 20 And the LORD shewed
me four carpenters. 21 Then said I, What come
these to do? And he spake, saying, These are
the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head:
but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which
lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it. Esther 3:7
¶In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king
Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and
from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar. 12 Then were the king's scribes called on the
thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all
that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors
that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every
province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their
language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the
king's ring. Adar 1313 And the letters were sent
by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to
perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day,
even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar,
and to take the spoil of them for a prey. 14 The copy of the writing
for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all
people, that they should be ready against that day. |

Ezekiel 32:1 ¶And it
came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of
the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say
unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the
nations, and thou art as a whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy
rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers. 3 Thus saith the Lord
GOD; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many
people; and they shall bring thee up in my net. 4 Then will I leave
thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will
cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the
beasts of the whole earth with thee. 5 And I will lay thy
flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thy height. 6 I will also water
with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the
rivers shall be full of thee. 7 And when I shall put
thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will
cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. 8 All the bright lights
of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith
the Lord GOD. 9 I will also vex the
hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations,
into the countries which thou hast not known. 10 Yea, I will make
many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for
thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at
every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall. 11 For thus saith the Lord GOD; The sword of the king
of Babylon shall come upon thee. Adar 3

Esther
9:1-5… ¶Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the
thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put
in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power
over them, (though
it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated
them;) 2 The Jews gathered
themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king
Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could
withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people. 3 And all the rulers of
the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the
king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. 4 For Mordecai was
great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout all the
provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater. 5 Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke
of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto
those that hated them. Esther
9:15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the
fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan;
but on the prey they laid not their hand. 17 On the thirteenth day of
the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made
it a day of feasting and gladness. 18 But the Jews that were at
Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the
fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and
made it a day of feasting and gladness. 19 Therefore the Jews of the
villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the
month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending
portions one to another. 21 To stablish this among
them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the
