Prepare
to meet thy God, O Israel.
Amos 4:12
And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. 1 Samuel 8:18
Howl
ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a
destruction from the Almighty.
Isaiah 13:6
For
the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day;
it shall be the time of the heathen.
Ezekiel 30:3
1
Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the
Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden
destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child;
and they shall not escape.
4 But
ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the
day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 ¶Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us
watch and be sober.
2
Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by
the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the
day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 ¶But,
beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with
the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 ¶The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the
which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the
elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the
works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 ¶Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved,
what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation
and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of
God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements
shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new
heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things,
be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot,
and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is
salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the
wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As
also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in
which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are
unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other
scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things
before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the
wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever.
Amen.
Ezekiel 38:19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
Isaiah
17:6 ¶Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive
tree, two or
three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in
the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of
Israel.
Isaiah 24:13 ¶When
thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the
shaking of an olive tree,
and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.
14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the
majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea.
15 Wherefore
glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel
in the isles of the sea.
Ezekiel
37:7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I
prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came
together, bone to his bone.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up
upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no
breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy,
son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come
from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that
they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came
into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an
exceeding great army.
11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole
house of Israel:
behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we
are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause
you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of
Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened
your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I
shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the
LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
1 Corinthians 3:13
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall
declare it, because
it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's
work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon,
he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:
but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 ¶Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that
the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God
destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Mark 9:49
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. Deuteronomy 4:24
Isaiah 66:15
¶For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his
chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his
rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For
by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD
shall be many
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. Hebrews 1:7

Luke 12:49 I
am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be
already kindled?
50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I
straitened till it be accomplished!
Isaiah 4:2
¶In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and
glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and
comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion,
and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even
every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
4 When
the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of
Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst
thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
Isaiah 33:14 .....
Who among us
shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell
with everlasting burnings?
15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that
despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from
holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood,
and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29
1
Corinthians 15:51 ¶Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall
not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption,
and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be
brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up
in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy
victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is
the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 29:1
¶Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add
ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness
and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel.
3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay
siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against
thee.
4 And
thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground,
and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall
be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and
thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
5 Moreover
the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the
multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth
away: yea, it shall be at an
instant suddenly.
6 Thou
shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with
earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the
flame of devouring fire.
Isaiah 10:16
Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his
fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning
like the burning of a fire.
17 And the light of Israel
shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall
burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his
fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a
standardbearer fainteth.
19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few,
that a child may write them.
Isaiah 43:1
¶But
now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that
formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have
called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with
thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through
the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame
kindle upon thee.
3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy
Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been
honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for
thee, and people for thy life.
5 Fear
not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather
thee from the west;
6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep
not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends
of the earth;
7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have
created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made
him.
8 ¶Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the
deaf that have ears.
9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the
people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us
former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they
may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
10 Ye
are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have
chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am
he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be
after me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no
saviour.
12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there
was no strange god among you: therefore
ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that
can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
2 Thessalonians
1:5 ¶Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment
of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for
which ye also suffer:
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense
tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord
Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not
God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from
the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all
them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed)
in that day.
Hosea 5:1
¶Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house
of Israel;
and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you,
because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon
Tabor.
2 And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though
I have been a rebuker of them all.
3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O
Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God:
for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they
have not known the LORD.
5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and
Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.
6 They
shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD;
but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7 They
have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten
strange children: now shall a month devour them with their
portions.
8 ¶Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah:
cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.
9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the
day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that
which shall surely be.
10 The
princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore
I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he
willingly walked after the commandment.
12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the
house of Judah as rottenness.
13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound,
then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet
could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young
lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I
will take away, and none shall rescue him.
15 I
will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their
offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me
early.
Hosea 6:1
¶Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn,
and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2 After
two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up,
and we shall live in his sight.
3 Then
shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth
is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the
rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
Isaiah 9:8
¶The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon
Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the
inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of
heart,
10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn
stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into
cedars.
11 Therefore
the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and
join his enemies together;
12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they
shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away,
but his hand is stretched out still.
13 For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them,
neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and
tail, branch and rush, in one day.
15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the
prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and
they that are led of them are destroyed.
17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men,
neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for
every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth
speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but
his hand is stretched out still.
18 For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the
briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the
forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.
19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land
darkened, and
the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his
brother.
20 And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry;
and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be
satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
21 Manasseh,
Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is
not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Malachi 4:1
¶For,
behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the
proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the
day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall
leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But
unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise
with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as
calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be
ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do
this, saith the LORD of hosts.
Zechariah 13:8
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the
LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third
shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and
will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold
is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I
will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my
God.
Zechariah 14:1 ¶Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and
thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to
battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and
the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into
captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off
from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those
nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

Joel 1:1
¶The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of
Pethuel.
2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants
of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of
your fathers?
3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell
their children, and their children another generation.
4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust
eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm
eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the
caterpiller eaten.
5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers
of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your
mouth.
6 For a nation is come up
upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the
teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he
hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof
are made white.
8
¶Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the
husband of her youth.
9 The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from
the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD'S ministers, mourn.
10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is
wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
11 Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers,
for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the
field is perished.
12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the
pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even
all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered
away from the sons of men.
13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye
ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye
ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering
is withholden from the house of your God.
14 ¶Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the
elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the
LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
15 Alas for the day! for the
day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the
Almighty shall it come.
16 Is
not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from
the house of our God?
17 The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are
laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is
withered.
18 How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are
perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep
are made desolate.
19 O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured
the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the
trees of the field.
20 The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the
rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the
pastures of the wilderness.
Joel 2:1 ¶Blow ye the trumpet in
Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the
inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh,
for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and
of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a
strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any
more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3 A fire devoureth before
them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden
of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea,
and nothing shall escape them.
4 The
appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as
horsemen, so shall they run.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall
they leap, like the noise of a flame
of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in
battle array.
6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all
faces shall gather blackness.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall
like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and
they shall not break their ranks:
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every
one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be
wounded.
9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run
upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall
enter in at the windows like a thief.
10 The
earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun
and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their
shining:
11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for
his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word:
for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can
abide it?
12 ¶Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me
with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with
mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn
unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to
anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a
blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering
unto the LORD your God?
15 Blow
the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble
the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts:
let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of
her closet.
17 Let the priests, the
ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and
let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine
heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them:
wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
18
¶Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his
people.
19 Yea,
the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send
you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith:
and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20 But I will remove far off
from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren
and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder
part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his
ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
21 Fear
not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great
things.
22 Be
not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the
wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig
tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the
LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately,
and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain,
and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats
shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath
eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm,
my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise
the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with
you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And
ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the
LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be
ashamed.
28 ¶And
it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit
upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see
visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in
those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew
wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and
pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into
blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
32 And
it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of
the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem
shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant
whom the LORD shall call.
Joel 3:1 ¶For, behold, in those
days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of
Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down
into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there
for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have
scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a
boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might
drink.
4 Yea,
and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the
coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense
me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your
own head;
5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have
carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem
have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far
from their border.
7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye
have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own
head:
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the
hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the
Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
9 ¶Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake
up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them
come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks
into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and
gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty
ones to come down, O LORD.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of
Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round
about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get
you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their
wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for
the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15 The
sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw
their shining.
16 The
LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from
Jerusalem; and
the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the
hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in
Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no
strangers pass through her any more.
18 ¶And it shall come to pass in that day, that the
mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with
milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a
fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall
water the valley of Shittim.
19 Egypt
shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the
violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed
innocent blood in their land.
20 But
Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to
generation.
21 For I
will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD
dwelleth in Zion
Obadiah 1:15
For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as
thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall
return upon thine own head.
16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all
the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they
shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not
been.
17 ¶But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there
shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their
possessions.
18 And
the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a
flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle
in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of
the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
19 And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau;
and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the
fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall
possess Gilead.
20 And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel
shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and
the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess
the cities of the south.
21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the
mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S.
Isaiah 34:8
For it is the day of the LORD'S vengeance, and the year of
recompences for the controversy of Zion.
Isaiah 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Isaiah 63:4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and
the year of my redeemed is come.
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Revelation 1:10

Exodus 19:1 ¶In the third
month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the
land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of
Sinai.
2 For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the
desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there
Israel camped before the mount.
3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of
the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob,
and tell the children of Israel;
4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you
on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my
covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all
people: for all the earth is mine:
6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy
nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the
children of Israel.
7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and
laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded
him.
8 And all the people
answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we
will do. And Moses returned
the words of the people unto the LORD.
9 ¶And the LORD said unto
Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak
with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of
the people unto the LORD.
10 And the LORD said unto
Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash
their clothes,
11 And be ready against the third day: for
the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the
people upon mount Sinai.
12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying,
Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or
touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be
surely put to death:
13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be
stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not
live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the
mount.
14 And Moses went down from
the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they
washed their clothes.
15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.
16 ¶And it came to pass on
the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and
lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of
the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in
the camp trembled.
17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet
with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
18 And mount Sinai was
altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in
fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace,
and the whole mount quaked greatly.
19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed
louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the
mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and
Moses went up.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest
they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them
perish.
22 And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD,
sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
23 And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to
mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the
mount, and sanctify it.
24 And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou
shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests
and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he
break forth upon them.
25 So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.
Exodus 20:1 ¶And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land
of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto
thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in
heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God
am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate
me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep
my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for
the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in
vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day,
to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou
labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it
thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter,
thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy
stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD
made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and
rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath
day, and hallowed it.
12 ¶Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long
upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not
covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his
maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy
neighbour's.
Luke 17:26
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in
the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were
given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did
eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they
builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained
fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is
revealed.
31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and
his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away:
and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's
wife.
